Medical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a 36-hour night shift schedule, with every other weekend (EOW) commitment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in telemetry and be proficient in reading telemetry strips.

Unit Overview

This position is located within a 41-bed medical telemetry unit servicing a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, including reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac drips.
• Administer high-flow oxygen and manage patient care related to cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, psychological, and substance use disorders.
• Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system (EPIC).
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to promote comprehensive patient care and discharge planning.
• Float to applicable units as needed to meet patient care demands.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a telemetry setting, with at least 2 years of travel nursing experience.
• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA Certified BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, with specific availability for night shifts.
• Strong skills in cardiac telemetry and patient management.

Patient Population

The patient population includes individuals with cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, psychological concerns, as well as those with substance use disorders, genitourinary issues, and gastrointestinal conditions.

Additional Information

This position includes free on-site parking for staff members. The clinician-to-patient ratio is 1:4/5 during day shifts and 1:5/6 for evening and night shifts.
