Job Description

This position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments upon admission and continuously monitor patient condition trends throughout their stay.
• Medication & Treatment: Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications, including IVs, while managing wound care and specialized equipment.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Patient Education: Instruct patients and their families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and discharge instructions.
• Emergency Response: Identify early signs of medical deterioration and take prompt action to stabilize patients before emergencies arise.

Shift Notes

This is a full-time position consisting of 12-hour night shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Candidates must be willing to float between units as needed and are expected to work every other weekend.

Attendance Policy

To ensure appropriate staffing coverage, a strict attendance policy is in place. Any RN who is absent from a scheduled shift, arrives more than 20 minutes late, or fails to fulfill their scheduled shift without prior approval will receive an attendance strike. Accumulating three attendance strikes will result in immediate termination from the assignment. Extenuating circumstances may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis with appropriate documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry experience.
• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
