• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Setting: Med/Surg Oncology Telemetry unit
• Employment Type: Travel nurse contract
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours; typically 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Float Requirement: May float to other MedSurg Oncology units

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or a related acute care specialty
• Active RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred or required as applicable to the role
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and tracheostomy management
• Ability to safely manage a 1:5 patient ratio
• Strong current acute care experience in the specialty required
• Comfort working in an oncology-focused Med/Surg Telemetry environment preferred
• Flexible, collaborative, and dependable team player

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients with mixed acuity needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform tracheostomy care, including suctioning, general trach care, and inner cannula changes
• Support drain management, including JP drains and Hemovacs
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Complete IV starts and maintain therapies as ordered
• Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and other support teams
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention and fall reduction
• Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed based on patient care demands
• Deliver compassionate, attentive care while promoting patient safety and positive outcomes
