Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg (Tele)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Medical/Surgical Telemetry to join our team. This position focuses on providing exemplary nursing care to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a primary focus on bariatrics and orthopedics.

Shift Details

• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
• Floating Requirement: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 shifts within a 6-week cycle

Contract Information

Contract lengths of 16+ weeks are available, extending up to February 27, 2027.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for a daily census averaging 39 patients in a 40-bed unit.
• Maintain a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-7, subject to unit needs.
• Provide continuous monitoring and support for patients in a telemetry setting.
• Enhance patient outcomes through exemplary customer service and compassionate care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Prior experience in telemetry is required.
• Must have certifications in BCLS, NIH, IV Start, and Telemetry.
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start.
• Must maintain hand hygiene compliance of at least 75%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in ACLS is preferred.

Unit Information

The unit employs advanced systems including PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, and Voalte to enhance patient care and nursing efficiency. A comprehensive unit orientation of 36 hours will be provided, requiring availability throughout the first week.

Additional Information

Scrubs are not provided, and attire should consist of navy blue or white, or a combination of both.
