Description:
Responsible for the delivery of nursing care to patients in a medical surgical setting.
Must have experience caring for patients pre and postoperative, including those with cardiac conditions, respiratory issues, and general medical diagnoses.
Nurses will be expected to titrate drips, including Heparin and Amiodarone/Cardizem.
Charge nurses may occasionally take patient assignments while ensuring oversight of nursing staff.
Majority of patients are on telemetry; therefore, nurses must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.
Self-scheduling is available with manager oversight to balance staffing.
Weekend requirements include a minimum of 6 Saturdays or Sundays within a 6-week period.
Traveling nurses will be required to work holidays based on unit needs.
All clinicians must clock in and out on-site.
Proper uniform, including scrub top and bottom in designated color, is required.
Orientation consists of both classroom and unit-based training.
Floating to different units may be necessary based on census and staffing needs.
Patient care ratios typically involve 1 nurse for every 6 patients, which can vary based on patient acuity and staffing levels.
Technical skills and familiarity with critical care equipment are essential for this position.
Nurses will work within a team and contribute to a dynamic patient care environment.
