Offering 26 weeks. Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM. Hours: 36 hours per week; may pick up additional hours as needed. Guaranteed hours per week: 36 or 48 hours. No holiday requests; dates may be discussed with the manager to determine if the unit can accommodate. BLS certification required; must have one year of Medical-Surgical experience and Telemetry experience. Unit will allow first-time travelers. Two years of experience required. Epic experience is necessary. Night shift ratios: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients; no LPN on nights. Charge nurse is free when fully staffed with 5 nurses and typically staffed with 4 nurses. Charge nurse takes 3 patients when fully staffed with 4 nurses. Charge nurse takes 6 patients when only 3 nurses are staffed. Patient diagnoses include pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis. Daily census: 33. Number of beds: 33. Patient age groups: Adults and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Unit is supported by a unit secretary. All lab work is expected to be scheduled with an estimated time of arrival within 48-72 hours of signing. Time off is limited to 10 days. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. Travelers may float to other units as needed. Background checks will be conducted, and any license or background hits must be noted. Proof of flu vaccination is required. Vaccination exemptions must be submitted within 48 hours of signing a contract. Modules are non-billable and completed annually. References must be from supervisory-level individuals.
