Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical Surgical to join our team. The candidate must be comfortable working with a prison population and float to various Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units, including forensics and inpatient units.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Monitor and assess patient condition, including vital signs and response to treatments.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and development activities.
  • Participate in holiday rotation, working three out of six specified holidays.

Qualifications

  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Mandt (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a Medical-Surgical setting is required.
  • Ability to float to different units as needed.
  • Experience working with the prison population is preferred.

Scheduling Details

This position requires night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Please note that block scheduling is not available for this position.

Patient Care Ratio

The ideal nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, but may be increased to 6:1 depending on specific circumstances and patient needs.
