Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is within a locked incarcerated unit where the Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to individuals in the prison population. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in this environment and prepared to address the unique challenges associated with it.

Responsibilities

  • Float to other Medical/Surgical (MS) and Telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU as required.
  • Administer care for patients in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Participate in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Must hold valid certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
  • A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required.
  • Will accept first-time travelers and locals at the same rate.

Holiday Requirements

Due to the contract requirements, all contracts starting in September will extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage. Nurses will be expected to participate in a holiday rotation and work 3 of the following 6 holidays:

  • Thanksgiving
  • Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve
  • New Year's Day

Nurses may arrange schedule swaps with peers, whenever possible, to accommodate personal preferences.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts consisting of 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
