Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4–6 patients, including occasional coverage of 2 ICU beds on the unit
• Perform IV starts, medication administration, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube feedings, IV drip management, and assistance with ADLs
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and 12-lead EKGs; must pass a 12-lead EKG and Dysrhythmia exam prior to or upon placement
• Participate in every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation as part of standard scheduling expectations
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems

Required Qualifications

• Active Indiana RN license or valid Compact RN license
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC electronic health record charting experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience with IV drip management and complex medical-surgical patient populations
