Description:
This position requires a registered nurse for a telemetry capable unit.
The patient population will primarily consist of medical surgical patients.
The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts, evenings from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend.
Holidays may be required as needed.
Travelers may be floated across facilities if needed.
A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Travelers will need to pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
Common patient diagnoses include observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, palliative care, end-of-life care, hospice patients, and psychiatric observation.
Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
The typical patient ratio is six patients per nurse on both days and nights.
The daily census for the unit is approximately 16 patients, with a total of 30 beds available for use.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Travelers may be floated as necessary to ensure patient care needs are met.
All nurses must comply with external education verification requirements.
