Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratio 1:5-6. Weekend requirement: 12-16 shifts per contract. Floating required as needed.
Highlights:
- 13-26 week contracts available, accepting first-time travelers
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with 41-bed capacity caring for adults and geriatric populations
- Comprehensive case mix including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, CVA, post-surgical patients, and COVID isolation care
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- 24-hour orientation with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and phlebotomy
- Full scope of practice including telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, central line management, wound care, and non-invasive airway support
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Strong clinical skills including Med/Surg, telemetry with remote monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, wound care, and isolation precautions
- Proficiency with insulin protocols, heparin administration, PCA pumps, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen delivery
- Experience with central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IV management, colostomy care, feeding tubes, and hemodialysis management preferred
- Epic charting experience strongly preferred

Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. Pre-start online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) required prior to orientation.
