Start Date: October 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Contract length: 13 weeks or longer.

Highlights:

  • Dynamic 30-bed gastrointestinal and medical-surgical unit with 10 telemetry beds for cardiac monitoring
  • Diverse patient population including GI conditions, blood loss/anemia, infections, renal patients, and post-surgical GI patients
  • Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 (occasionally 1:7 based on staffing needs)
  • Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover (approximately one-third of beds daily)
  • Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • 36-hour orientation with ongoing professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
  • Two successfully completed travel assignments required (first-time travelers cannot be accommodated)
  • Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • Telemetry experience strongly preferred
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • IV start proficiency required
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred
  • Willingness to float to other medical-surgical units as needed
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
