Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in cardiac and telemetry nursing Preferred charge nurse experience Ability to float to different units as needed Description: This position is for an observation unit dealing with chest pain rule-out patients. The unit also provides support to the emergency department during high capacity situations. Many patients will be cardiac-related, requiring telemetric monitoring and care. Strong cardiac and telemetry experience is essential for this role. The average patient ratio is typically 5 patients per nurse. There is a need for proficiency in managing complex cardiac cases. Experience in a community hospital environment is preferred. Experience with specific procedures, such as managing chest tubes, is also desired. Candidates must be familiar with charting systems, ideally Cerner, though this is not mandatory. Additional skills required include managing cardiac drips and performing procedural sedation. The nurse will contribute to an interdisciplinary team that supports patient care. Candidates may be required to float to various medical-surgical units as necessary. Candidates should possess skills in telemetry and have thorough knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation. The daily census in this unit can average around 20 patients. Candidates will be part of a dynamic team focused on providing high-quality patient care.
