Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg/Tele team.
This position involves working a 12-hour night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
You will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 1 RN to 5 patients and 1 CNA to 10 patients.
The average daily census on the unit is 8 patients, with a total of 10 beds.
You will encounter various patient types and common diagnoses, including chest pain, syncope, and angina.
Skills required include general Med/Tele skillset, stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and Foley insertion/management.
You will also manage medication drips, including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.
Support within the department includes supervisors and charge RNs, along with resource RNs assisting with admissions and discharges.
You will have access to a hospitalist team available 24/7 and a combined effort with phlebotomy and the IV team.
The facility utilizes EPIC for EMR, Alaris for IV Pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing.
Travel nurses will be required to float to other nursing units as needed.
You must demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units, accepting patients within your scope of practice.
Holiday expectations include working 75% of holidays, with up to 6 days off available for RTO, excluding holidays.
