General Med/Tele skillset, including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, and medication gtt management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.
Description:
We are seeking a dedicated RN for a MedSurg/Tele position.
The primary focus is to decompress the emergency department and other specialty areas.
The units consist of several med-surg and med-tele units.
Common patient diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, motor vehicle collisions, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA.
Patient-to-nurse ratios vary based on acuity and unit, ranging from 1:4 to 1:8.
Support within the department includes CNAs and secretarial staff that assist with vital checks, hygiene care, and administrative duties.
There is a resource team on-site to provide additional support.
A telemetry monitoring system is in place, and nurses are responsible for monitoring patients’ telemetry readings.
Floating to other facilities may be required based on regional needs.
Weekend rotations are scheduled every other week.
Travelers are expected to work a majority of holidays.
Requests for time off will be considered, with a stipulation of extending the contract for any unpaid time.
