Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred, not required).
Must-Have:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, including 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience.
- Travelers must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying.
- Experience with IV start and telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Experience in caring for neuro patients, including stroke and neurosurgery patients.
Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may result in a cancellation.
Floating to other Medical-Surgical and Telemetry areas may be required.
The unit cares primarily for stroke patients but also handles various neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and traumatic subdural hematomas.
The daily census is approximately 42, with 43 rooms/beds available.
Travelers are required to work every other weekend.
If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to the end of the contract to make up for those dates.
If a traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, they will need to make up those shifts.
Frequent floating may be necessary based on unit needs.
Must pass EKG testing prior to the start for this specialty.
Unit orientation is required, and scrub color is navy.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in handling various patient diagnoses and special procedures in the neuroscience field.
All candidate credentials must be verified, and compliance with facility requirements is necessary.
