Description

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Neuroscience / Telemetry RN – North Carolina

Start Date: October 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; 13-week contract

Highlights:

  • Primary neuroscience unit specializing in stroke care, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
  • Patient ratio of 1:6 with a daily census of approximately 50 patients on a 55-bed unit
  • EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management
  • 36 hours of unit orientation provided
  • Floating required to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry areas as needed
  • Must have at least two successful travel assignments completed (first-time travelers not accepted)

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience (required)
  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); ACLS preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with neuroscience patient populations including stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
  • Skills in central line care, PICC line management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, and cardiac/vasoactive drip management (non-titration)
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Previous travel experience required; local candidates accepted with rate adjustment
