Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Neuroscience Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available; every other weekend required; contract length up to 20+ weeks with hard stop February 27, 2027
Highlights:
- Neuroscience specialty unit caring primarily for stroke patients, along with epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, brain tumors, and other neurological diagnoses
- Patient ratios of 1:6 with a daily census of approximately 50 patients
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
- 36-hour unit orientation with specialized training available for 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
- Floating required to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry areas as needed
- Preferred scheduling with flexibility for makeup shifts if needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience (required)
- Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); ACLS preferred
- Required skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Medical-Surgical neuro experience
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
