Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse
• Location: Winston-Salem, NC 27103
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; block scheduling may be available
• Floating: Required within/near the facility as needed
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Setting: Adult Med-Surg Telemetry, Orthopedic, Neuro Spine, and Post-Surgical Care

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact license; pending license may be considered for submittal
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Orthopedic nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Epic experience required for first-time travelers
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to pass EKG testing before start
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced med-surg environment with adult post-surgical patients
• Open to floating to other med-surg units as needed
• Flu vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients
• Monitor telemetry and quickly recognize changes in patient condition
• Manage pain control needs for a high orthopedic and spine census
• Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and bedside nursing interventions
• Administer medications and therapies according to the plan of care
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to support safe patient care
• Adapt to changing unit needs while delivering excellent customer service and compassionate care
