Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Tele Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC - 3 years of experience within specialty for first-time travelers Description: Shift schedule is 3 nights per week from 19:00 to 07:30. Floating may be required to other similar units or nearby facilities if needed. Patient diagnoses include orthopedics and bariatric cases. Experience in telemetry is preferred. The medication system used is Pyxis. All applicants must submit proof of required certifications. Travelers must have proficiency in administering blood products, central line care and management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Knowledge of isolation precautions and oxygen administration is necessary. Applicants should possess skills in telemetry monitoring, EKG testing, and peripheral line care management. Staffing ratio is generally 5-6 patients per nurse during the day and 6 patients at night. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. A comprehensive understanding of patient care for adults and geriatric populations is essential. This role requires successful completion of all pre-assignment testing and compliance modules. Travelers must float to other units as requested, based on census needs. All assignments require an understanding of and compliance with established protocols and competencies.
