Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the field License: State Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 1 year of experience with EPIC documentation system - MS/Tele competencies Description: The shift is 3x12-hour days from 07:00 to 19:30. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend but may vary based on facility needs. Floating is required and nurses may be floated to other facilities based on need and census. The patient age group consists of adults and geriatrics. The medication system in use is Omnicell. The average daily census is 20 patients with a ratio of 1:5 on day shifts. The patient population typically includes elderly individuals with various health conditions. These may include respiratory diseases, infections, dementia, and neurological issues. The unit promotes a healthy work environment and emphasizes teamwork. There is a charge RN present on each shift to facilitate operations. Traveling nurses must have the necessary skills in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. All travelers are required to pass an EKG exam. The unit has interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special procedures are performed within this unit, and travelers must demonstrate documented competencies. Compliance with floating requirements is mandatory, with floating to qualified units based on demonstrated skills.
