Job Title: Travel RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of current Orthopedic RN or Medical/Surgical experience in a hospital setting License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of current Orthopedic RN or Medical/Surgical experience in a hospital setting - BLS certification Description: This position is for a Travel RN in Orthopedic Surgery. The unit has 36 beds and a staff of 27. On the day shift, the staffing includes 1 charge RN, RNs based on volume, 1-2 Techs, and 1 secretary. Night shift staffing consists of 1 charge RN, RNs based on volume, and 1-2 Techs. The patient ratio for RNs is 5:1, with 8-12 patients per Tech. Required equipment includes immobilizers, braces, and cold treatment. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Preferred candidates will have experience in orthopedic and spine care. Typical procedures performed on the unit include total joint surgeries for knee, hip, and shoulder, as well as spine surgeries. The ideal candidate will be energetic, have a good sense of humor, and display empathy. This unit has received recognition for excellent teamwork, outcomes, and employee engagement.
