Description:
Position is for Telemetry Registered Nurses.
Unit has 23 beds and typically includes 9-10 staff members.
Day Shift consists of 1 Charge Nurse, 5 Registered Nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians, and 1 Unit Secretary.
Night Shift includes 1 Charge Nurse, 5 Registered Nurses, and 3 Patient Care Technicians.
Patient ratios are 5:1.
Equipment includes telemetry devices, lift equipment, cryotherapy devices, SCDs, and bedside pulse oximeters.
Electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
Typical hiring profile includes candidates with med-surg telemetry experience.
Candidates with orthopedic experience are preferred.
Typical procedures performed in the unit include post-operative care for total joint replacement, general surgery, plastics, and gynecology.
Ideal personality fit is a team player, communicative, and has a positive attitude.
Floating may occur to Surgical Telemetry as needed.
Dress code is navy scrubs.
Weekend on-call may be required during low census.
