Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in oncology. The selected candidate will provide patient care on a 7 North unit, focusing on med-surg nursing for oncology patients.

Assignment Details

  • Start date: 3 weeks from offer
  • Assignment length: 13 weeks with the possibility of extension
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend required; block scheduling considered
  • Preferred shift: 3x12 hour shifts; 4x12 hour shifts will also be considered

Patient Care Responsibilities

The patient-to-nurse ratio will be 1:6 or 1:7. Experience with higher patient ratios is required to ensure quality care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of recent med-surg nursing experience
  • Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
  • Oncology nursing experience is highly preferred
  • Required certifications: BLS
  • Required skills: Telemetry, IV start

Technical Requirements

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Cerner and Soarian is desired. Royal Blue scrubs are required and will not be provided.

Additional Information

Local candidates deemed to be within 31-50 miles from the facility will be considered. Candidates residing under 30 miles will not be eligible for this position.
