Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment on an Oncology Floor, with the possibility of extension. This position primarily involves night shifts and may offer block scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Effectively manage patient care with a ratio of 1:6 or 1:7.
• Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems, including Cerner and Soarian.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one year of recent experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Oncology experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and IV starting skills.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.

Work Schedule

This position will primarily be on a night shift, 4x12 hours, with options for block scheduling. A shift of 3x12 is preferred but a 4x12 schedule will be considered. Candidates must include minimal to no requests for time off (RTO) with their submission.

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs are required for this position. Please note that scrubs will not be provided.

Those located within 31-50 miles of the facility are encouraged to apply, while individuals residing under 30 miles will not be considered.
