Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our acute care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, ensuring safety and comfort for patients in a medical surgical setting. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, patient-centered care, and a willingness to float to different units as needed.

Shift and Scheduling

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: As needed

Unit Information

• Unit: Acute Care
• Bed Count: 44 beds
• Staff: 40 staff members
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5, possibly up to 1:6 during night shifts
• CNA Support: Available at ratios of 1:8, commonly 1:10
• EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIHSS Certification

Orientation and Training

• General Orientation: 1 week, including EMR training
• Unit-Specific Orientation: 2 days

Additional Information

The role requires the flexibility to float to all acute care and cardiac units for medical patient care, as well as emergency care for patient holds. This position is ideal for a dynamic nurse who is looking to grow their skills in a collaborative environment.
