• Location: Fargo, ND 58102
• Setting: Acute care medical-surgical unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and holiday
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200-$2,320
• Charting System: EPIC
• Unit Size: 47 beds
• Patient Ratio: 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 on night shift
• Orientation: 1 day of lead center training, followed by 2 unit shifts with a preceptor

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Experience in a large hospital setting (200+ beds) and a Level II or higher trauma center
• Travel nursing experience preferred; candidates with multiple years in a large Level I setting will also be considered
• Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred
• Active North Dakota RN license or Compact RN license
• BLS certification through AHA
• EPIC experience required
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and surgical oncology patients in an acute care setting
• Collaborate with physicians and inter-professional team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Deliver care using age-specific and population-specific standards within your RN scope of practice
• Utilize unit equipment and healthcare technology including EPIC, AccuDose, bladder scanners, Phillips monitors, and telemetry
• Float to other med/surg units across campus as needed
• Maintain safe, accurate documentation and follow unit protocols for strong patient outcomes
• Support a patient-centered care environment while adapting to the pace and demands of a busy medical-surgical nursing unit
