Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

About the Position

This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) working night shifts on a 4x12-hour schedule. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

  • Shift: 4x12 hours, Nights (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6-7; supports a staffing plan of 1:6 with flexible adjustments if needed
  • Weekend Requirements: Yes, every other weekend
  • On-Call Requirements: Yes, as needed for low census
  • Floating Requirement: Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs

Qualifications

  • Years of Experience Required: Preferably 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing environment
  • First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
  • License Required: SC license or compact license must be in hand prior to start
  • Certifications Required: BLS
  • Preferred Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
  • Special Requirements: Experience with Epic
  • Skills Required: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin, Rapid Response

  • Block Schedule Accommodation: Approval can be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
  • Local Radius: 60 miles
  • Local Candidates: No local candidates accepted
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Additional Information

The facility has a total of 34 staffed beds, with free parking available for staff. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Please confirm availability for assignments during this period with consideration for peak activity in August and September.
