Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with DC license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of recent oncology nursing or related clinical experience
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment required
- BLS certification required
- Experience supporting oncology, radiation oncology, or nurse navigator workflows preferred
- Comfort using Cerner for clinical documentation
- Strong skills in IV starts, port care, central line care, triage, and patient education
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with the interdisciplinary care team
Responsibilities
- Provide care coordination and navigation support for adult cancer patients receiving radiation therapy
- Perform telephone triage, symptom assessment, and escalation of urgent concerns as needed
- Assist with chart preparation, disability forms, pharmacy calls, and clinic workflow support
- Educate patients on skincare, wound care, radiation side effects, and treatment-related symptom management
- Support assessments related to radiation toxicity, social needs, and overall patient well-being
- Maintain safe clinical practices with central line, port, and IV management
- Recognize and respond to complications such as neutropenia, extravasation, sepsis, bleeding concerns, or airway issues
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with physicians, residents, and other care partners
