Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Tele

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Tele to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical telemetry unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes and communicating as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to create and implement patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
  • Float to lower acuity units as needed within the specialty.
  • Work weekends and holidays as per schedule.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and NIH Stroke Scale certification are required.
  • Ability to handle assigned patient ratio of 1:5 effectively.

Schedule

  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours from 20:00 to 08:30
  • Floating within the specialty may be required to provide optimal care.

  • Scrub color: Navy
  • This role requires a commitment to every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
