- Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6
- Schedule Notes: Weekend-only requests may be considered; holiday coverage may be required
- Orientation: Held every other Monday
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience or similar acute care experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong adaptability in a fast-paced teaching-hospital environment
- Ability to provide a work history and explain any gaps over 90 days
- Skills checklist and copy of license/Nursys required for submission
- Willingness to support charge RN responsibilities if assigned, with training and appropriate differential provided
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to medical-surgical and observation patients
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary care team
- Support daily unit operations and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Deliver care in alignment with unit standards, patient ratio expectations, and best practices in acute care nursing
- Adapt to a teaching environment and positively interact with students and new team members
- Assist with charge nurse responsibilities when needed and as appropriate
- Maintain flexibility for holiday coverage and unit-driven scheduling needs
