Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

• Unit: 42-bed medical-surgical department
• Patient Assignment: Goal ratio of 1:6, with assignments potentially increasing to 1:7
• Documentation: Meditech
• Scheduling: Every other weekend and holidays in rotation; overtime may be available
• Additional Expectations: Float to other areas as needed and follow bedside shift report, timekeeping, patient safety, and team huddle practices

Med-Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in South Carolina
• At least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong medical-surgical assessment and patient-care skills
• Experience or demonstrated competency with wound care, Foley catheter care, and tracheostomy care
• Excellent communication, teamwork, organization, and critical-thinking skills
• Compassionate, adaptable approach to caring for patients with varied medical needs
• Ability to wear navy blue nursing uniforms and work night shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, individualized nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population
• Complete comprehensive assessments, administer medications, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Perform and document wound care, Foley catheter care, tracheostomy care, and other routine medical-surgical interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing support staff, patients, and families to coordinate effective care
• Participate in bedside shift report, interdisciplinary team huddles, and patient-safety initiatives
• Support safe discharge planning, patient education, and transitions of care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and comply with unit policies and professional standards
• Adapt to changing patient needs and float to other areas when requested
