Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical unit. This role requires a minimum of 1 year of experience, although first-time travelers are welcome to apply. The patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics, dealing with various medical conditions including diabetes, post-operative care, wound vacs, and bariatrics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable working with adult and geriatric patient populations

General Skills and Work Setting Requirements

• Experience in Medical Surgical or Remote Telemetry nursing
• Familiarity with the following diagnoses: diabetes, med/surg, post-operative care, wound vacs, and bariatrics
• Unit systems used: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR

Work Environment

• Patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Unit capacity: 33 beds with an average daily census of 28
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Scheduling and Availability

• Shift: Night shifts (3x12 hours)
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be required

On-call and Holiday Requirements

• On-call required every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Major holiday commitments include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• If assigned to a period including major holidays, working expectations will apply

Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance is necessary to start on time. Failure to meet compliance requirements may result in a delay of up to 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
