Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse in a MedSurg/General Surgery unit. This role supports the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and manage a diverse patient population.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in the education of patients and their families regarding health management and recovery processes.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Be available for floating within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Shift and Schedule

The position requires a commitment to working 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekends and holiday rotations. On-call requirements are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role is highly preferred.
• First-time travelers are accepted, but candidates with prior experience are preferred.

Additional Information

All requests for time off must be submitted upon application and will be approved based on unit needs. The facility reserves the right to cancel one shift per 2-week period.

Please note that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. It is advised to avoid confirming new or extended assignments during this period (June to November).

About the Facility

This is a 396-bed acute care facility that utilizes EPIC for charting and offers free parking for staff. Scrub colors are royal blue or white for registered nurses.
