ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for an ICU position within a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) unit. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of ICU experience and neuro expertise, providing high-quality care to patients in a critical condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients within the LTAC unit.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition, managing inputs and outputs effectively.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and contribute to patient care decisions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Educate patients and families about their condition and care plans.
  • Support and coordinate with clinical staff during night shifts and on-call hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
  • Previous experience in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in neuro care is essential.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work night shifts and be part of a rotating on-call schedule.

Schedule

  • Full-time position with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
  • Night shift: 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30).
  • Monday to Friday schedule, with weekend support rotatable between 6 to 8 staff members.

Contract Length

Opportunity available for 13 to 26 weeks.
