Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Circulate in the OR — required skill; candidates without this experience will not be considered
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care, eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections (eyes and thighs), and newborn assessments — required skill; candidates without this experience will not be considered
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring systems in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Float as needed to Postpartum and Antepartum units, including potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment — no exceptions
- Demonstrated high-risk L&D experience required
- Proficiency in OR circulation and newborn care (eyes, thighs, and newborn assessments) — hard stop requirements; candidates without these skills will not be considered
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP — proof must be submitted with application
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler; local candidates are also accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
