    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
    • Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum — hard stop requirement
    • Circulate in the ORhard stop requirement; unit operates 4 ORs
    • Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
    • Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
    • Float as needed to Postpartum and Antepartum, including potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP certification required
    • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
    • High-risk Labor and Delivery experience required
    • Ability to circulate in the OR and provide full newborn care
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler; local candidates are accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • ACLS certification
    • AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification
    • Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced Labor and Delivery environments with high daily census and delivery volume
    • Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and electronic fetal monitoring
