    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery / OB Acute & Postpartum

    Location

    Peoria, IL | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every 3rd Weekend (Fri/Sat) | Every Other Holiday

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborn infants within a unit that includes LDR rooms, OR suites, triage rooms, and private postpartum rooms
    • Perform required assessments and deliver care to postpartum patients following AWHONN guidelines at a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Titrate and manage drips including insulin and heparin per physician orders
    • Collaborate with a 24/7 charge RN, house supervisor, labor hospitalist, and newborn hospitalist team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
    • Float within the Family Birthing Center, including Women's Care Unit (antepartum and women's surgeries) and L&D, assisting with recoveries and patient support as needed
    • Document and manage patient care using the Epic EFM system
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
    • Demonstrated experience with postpartum patient care and required nursing assessments
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the standard contract rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • ACLS certification
    • Lactation education and support experience
    • Level 2 Nursery experience
    • Familiarity with AWHONN fetal monitoring standards and telemetry (Philips monitors)
