Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pregnant patients, including high-risk OB patients, across Labor and Delivery, Triage, and when floating, Postpartum and Antepartum units
- Manage and titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin per unit protocols
- Circulate cesarean sections in the OR and recover patients in the PACU
- Perform electronic fetal monitoring using Obix/Phillips monitors and Epic Stork, interpreting strips independently in accordance with Advanced AWHONN EFM certification standards
- Deliver care for vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including newborn care at time of delivery, following AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
- Float to Postpartum (team of 5–6 patients) and Antepartum (up to 3 high-risk intermittent EFM patients) units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Completed Advanced AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) class required
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a Level 3 perinatal center or high-risk OB environment
- Proficiency in care of patients undergoing cerclage placement and antepartum monitoring
- Familiarity with Epic Stork EFM documentation system
