    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Charge Nurse)

    Location

    Anchorage, AK | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 or 26 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit, including OB Triage, LDR rooms, OR suites, and PACU
    • Regularly serve in the Charge Nurse role, overseeing unit operations and staff coordination during the night shift
    • Manage and care for induction patients, high-risk antepartum patients, and third-trimester triage cases
    • Float to like units within the facility or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet staffing demands
    • Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
    • Participate in holiday coverage, with an expectation to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Alaska RN license required; pending license accepted for submission, but license must be in hand prior to offer
    • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP
    • Hepatitis B vaccination required; titers and declinations are not accepted
    • 2 references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
    • Epic charting experience required
    • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior Charge Nurse experience strongly preferred; candidates willing to train in the charge role will also be considered
    • Experience in high-risk obstetrics, antepartum care, or OB triage settings
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced unit with average daily deliveries around 7, with capacity for up to 14 patients
