The nurse will care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. Responsibilities include circulating in the operating room and starting adult IVs. Administration of blood and blood products is required. The nurse will use drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps as needed. Experience with insulin and magnesium sulfate administration is preferred. The nurse will provide couplet care for mother and newborn. The staffing ratio is 1:1 to 3. Candidates should have experience with high-risk antepartum and low-risk scenarios. Required skills include triaging obstetrical patients and performing sterile vaginal exams. The nurse should maintain central lines and manage pain assessments. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities as necessary. Candidates must commit to working three out of five major holidays. References covering a year of experience within the last three years are required. The facility does not accept candidates with previous employment under specific conditions.
