Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour, Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: First Timers Accepted: Yes Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 Weeks Description: The Labor and Delivery registered nurse will provide care for patients during labor and delivery. The nurse will assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. The role involves monitoring the health of both mother and baby throughout the delivery process. The nurse will administer medications as needed. Support for breastfeeding and lactation is also part of the responsibilities. The registered nurse will educate parents on discharge instructions. The nurse will perform infant assessments and care, including cord care and identification. Experience in high-risk deliveries is required. Float between units as necessary to meet hospital needs. Weekend coverage is required. The nurse must maintain professional documentation and charting according to health system standards. Additional skills in pain management, fetal monitoring, and neonatal care are essential. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. Promoting a safe and supportive environment during labor and delivery is a priority. Compliance with all safety and health regulations is mandatory. The position requires adaptability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will be expected to commit to working three of five major holidays.
