Will accept 13 or 26 week contracts. Can request up to 2 major holidays off. This unit only requires travelers to work 1 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Years/Eve). Beautiful campus with great camaraderie. Staff book clubs and group dinners are encouraged. Candidates of any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms available. Responsibilities include circulation, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, and low-risk antepartum/labor delivery. Special procedures include blood/blood products administration and cardioversion/defibrillation. Experience with various medical equipment such as epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and wound vacs is required. Attendance at all deliveries and high-risk deliveries is necessary. Specialized care for GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery is provided. Staffing ratio is 1:1-3. Floating to post-partum, and possibly labor and delivery, may be required. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Skill in administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, and antihypertensives is expected. Experience in triaging obstetrical patients is a plus. Travel experience is not required, but is preferred.
