Description:
This facility is a Level III Trauma Center.
It features a Level II NICU and is a Primary Stroke Center.
The unit has 72 beds available.
There are 13 beds designated for Labor & Delivery, including triage and OR space.
Patient types include antepartum, postpartum, labor and delivery, and gynecological surgeries including hysterectomies and D&Cs for patients 20 weeks and older.
Adequate PPE is provided for staff.
Patient ratios include 1:2 for laboring patients, 1:1 for active labor, and 1:3 for couplets.
Support on the unit includes a CNA per 13 patients and OB techs serving as scrubs during C-sections.
The charge nurse has a light assignment.
Phlebotomy support is available for blood draws.
There is an OB-GYN on call, as well as midwife coverage during the night.
An OB-CRNA is available 24/7 during weekends.
FHM monitoring is conducted at the nurse’s station and bedside.
The unit has a secretary available during the day shift.
The charting system includes EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, Milktraker, and CPN.
There is no floating required for this position.
The schedule includes weekend rotations every other weekend.
The manager will approve time-off requests.
There is no on-call requirement.
Holiday expectations are set for the nights before and after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
Scrub color is procedural blues.
