Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2+ years in Labor and Delivery License: NY License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: - Labor & Delivery experience - Charting system experience - Ability to manage antepartum and postpartum care Description: Two positions are available. One is to start as soon as possible, and the other by 10/19. Please confirm the start date prior to applying. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will receive a reduced rate. It is essential to have a NY License in hand before applying. Requests for time off must be submitted prior to application; late submissions will not be approved. The facility has a combined LDRP unit. Travel Registered Nurses are required to achieve a minimum score of 80% on a telemetry assessment on the first day of orientation. This assessment includes identifying heart blocks, various arrhythmias, and understanding normal interval durations on telemetry strips. Nurses must also be able to accurately interpret cardiac rhythms for all telemetry patients. High-risk deliveries and C-sections are part of the responsibilities. Additional skills include breastfeeding support, postpartum hemorrhage management, and discharge teaching to parents. Candidates will assist with epidural and general anesthesia procedures. Knowledge in maintaining central lines and administering anticoagulation therapy is also essential. The role requires effective communication and education skills for parents about newborn assessments and care. Additional experience in a teaching hospital setting is preferred.
