The facility has 637 licensed beds and is designated as a Level 1 Trauma center. The unit comprises labor beds, ORs, PACUs, antepartum beds, triage, and postpartum beds. The patient census ranges from 2 to 14 Labor & Delivery patients. Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines. Required skills include the ability to scrub surgeries and assist with C-sections. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, IV management, and coordination of care. Support staff includes OB Surg Techs and CNAs. Nursing duties will include tasks such as vital sign monitoring, glucose checks, and patient assistance. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including EMR, IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring. There are no on-call requirements, and holiday work is required for major holidays. The unit operates on a team-based culture despite being busy.
