Travel RN Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience, preferably in Labor & Delivery
  • Completion of an approved professional nursing program
  • Valid Oklahoma or multistate Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
  • Proof of instruction or successful completion of Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
  • Epic experience required; experience with additional Epic environments is preferred
  • Working knowledge of disease-state management, the biopsychosocial model, and clinical pathways
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete work accurately in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong attention to detail when evaluating clinical and numerical data

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
  • Provide safe, compassionate care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop care plans consistent with unit standards and nursing guidelines
  • Perform nursing interventions appropriate for the patient population while considering cultural, psychosocial, and age-related needs
  • Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and demonstrate sound clinical judgment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Delegate appropriately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and progress accurately and consistently in the electronic medical record
  • Provide patient education and support discharge planning, referrals, and transitions of care
  • Anticipate patient and unit needs while supporting quality improvement and educational initiatives
  • Complete required in-services, education standards, and variance reports
