The nurse will be responsible for managing high-risk obstetric cases, including hypertensive disorders, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, and postpartum complications, ensuring safe and compassionate patient care.

  • Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); minimum two years of experience in a postpartum or obstetric care setting
  • Schedule: Nights, weekends as needed, with holiday requirements, and call or standby shifts; floating to labor and delivery for normal newborn transition may be required
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit handles antepartum and high-risk obstetric beds, postpartum, and triage services.
    • Patients typically present with pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, AMA, and substance use disorders.
    • Must have skills in newborn transition and post-delivery magnesium management.
    • Certifications required include BLS and NRP.
    • Experience with titrating drips and use of RT equipment such as vents and BiPaps in NICU is preferred.
    • The unit operates a Centricity Perinatal Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring system.
    • The hospital has 24/7 in-house OB/Neonatologist and advanced practice provider coverage, as well as NICU specialists.
