Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills to provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced environment.

Shift and Schedule

• 4 ten-hour shifts per week
• Weeknight call rotation approximately every three weekdays
• Weekend call rotation approximately every three weekends
• Holidays may require additional call responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Verify orders and patient consent
• Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments
• Provide patient education and consent verification
• Prepare and set up procedure rooms
• Circulate interventional radiology cases
• Administer moderate sedation and assist anesthesia providers
• Continuously monitor patient hemodynamics
• Accurate documentation of patient care and procedures
• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Must have a valid RN license in Wisconsin or a compact state
• Current certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Cath Lab
• Specific experience in interventional radiology procedures
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) is required

Additional Information

The department has a total of 7 rooms, including 4 Cath Lab/EP rooms and 3 IR rooms. The average number of cases per day is over 20 across all rooms. Common interventional radiology procedures include port placements, liver biopsies, IVC placements, and various neuro procedures such as coiling and thrombectomies.

Work Environment

The role will involve working closely with other healthcare professionals, including cardiologists and anesthesia providers. Onboarding will include 2 to 3 full days of training and shadowing, followed by a buddy call system for the subsequent week.
