    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool) | 12-Hour Days

    Key Responsibilities
    • Function as a float pool RN, rotating across PCU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and ED Holding units within scope of practice; expect to spend the majority of shifts in the ED Holding area
    • Care for a diverse patient population including neuro, trauma, surgical, medical, cardiac stepdown, and cardiac short-stay patients (CHF, COPD, sepsis, STEMIs, post-CABG/TAVR, post-cath, pacemakers, ablations, strokes, and more)
    • Perform IV medication titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, BiPAP management, and management of ostomies, general drains, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and lumbar drains
    • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR, including hourly rounding, whiteboard updates, pain assessment before and after medication administration, and bedside report
    • Follow all medication safety protocols including two-nurse waste verification for narcotics and benzodiazepines, and proper medication storage procedures
    • Adhere to patient ratios of 1:4 (PCU) and 1:5–6 (Med/Surg) with support from CNA, Charge RN, Hospitalist, RT, and on-call specialty MDs available 24/7
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license valid in the state of Washington
    • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
    • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; strong PCU/Telemetry background essential
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Traveler Telemetry Competency required prior to starting
    • Experience with cardiac stepdown patients including post-CABG and TAVR care required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Previous float pool experience strongly preferred, particularly for first-time travelers
    • TR Band experience preferred
    • Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Experience in ED Holding or observation-level care settings
